Looking Forward: Learning to Pace Myself

Well, I’m sure you know this, but I’ve been gone for  a WHOLE month. A little more actually. I, again, started to think that I would never come back to blogging…that the depression would take me away to a *forever* prison, and NEVER let me go. But, I did get my release today. A kind of new birth. The day after my newest niece was born I got my colors back, and my breath. Alas, my brain was set free. And, I felt better. Yay!

Instead of cleaning with this renewed health, I went to see the new baby! (Wasn’t that a good choice?) What a good day my little family had. Anyway…I’m off track.

This is SIX WORD FRIDAYS. It is historical. I seem to always come back, after hiatus, on a Friday.

I am looking forward to finding
*FINALLY* a new therapist. I have
been without one for almost a
whole YEAR. But, really, with the

finding of said therapist comes what
I am TRULY looking forward to…
which is: learning to pace myself.

There I said it. I need
to learn to pace myself
when I am feeling good, so
it doesn’t feel like the whole
world will fall apart when I am
not. Because, as you may know;

the sky is not falling, indeed. Though
recently I felt sure it might
be. Or, maybe, wished it would.

Welcome back. Yes, visiting Anna Pearl is the best choice. I love that name. They picked a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl.

I am glad you are back enough to write. I love Six Word Fridays.

  6. Yay to finding yourself! And to giving yourself a break. I think visiting your new niece was definitely the wiser (and totally more fun) choice. Yep-yep.

    1. Thanks, I think I made the wise choice, too. But it is nice to hear from you.

  7. Caroline I am fairly new to Six Word Fridays and I am quite a but older than you, but I am an OhMyGosh the sky is falling kind of gal and have been fighting it most of my life. I also have a worry/anxiety button that I find very hard to turn off. You would never know it if you knew me or read my blog because I hide it well. It is good that at least you know one good thing you need to do for yourself to get to feeling better. And I am happy to read here that you are indeed feeling better. I just wanted to say “hello” thru SWF and I wanted to communicate that I understand.

    1. Oh, wow, thank you so much for telling me that you identify with my sky is falling syndrome! It’s so nice to meet kindred spirits through this little blog world!

You are so right–the sky is not falling, but it’s hard to see that sometimes. Sometimes, in fact, I am convinced that the sky has fallen, and that I’m just waiting for everyone else to notice. Glad to have you back. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Melissa. It is always good to be back on a Friday!

  9. ayala says:

  10. I’m glad to see you are back. I was worried about you. I suffer from depression too and the winter is the worst time for me. So far it hasn’t been to bad for me this year. It helps that it has been unseasonably warm and we still have quite a bit of green grass…unheard of in January around here. Stay strong. I will be praying for you.

    1. Thank you for your prayers, Karen, they mean so much! We have had some good weather haven’t we?!
